For Schools & Districts
BookPulse for Schools — the honest version
We are a teacher-first product right now. Individual teachers buy BookPulse with their own funds or a small classroom budget — and that is where we put our energy in 2026.
If you are a school or district leader, here is the truth:
- 1.The fastest path to BookPulse in your school is one of your ELA teachers trying the free plan on a unit this fall. Forward them readbookpulse.com and let them tell you whether it works.
- 2.Site and district licensing is on the roadmap for the 2027-28 school year, once we have added 30+ titles spanning grades 4-12 and executed a SOC 2 Type II audit. See our security roadmap for current status.
- 3.Our catalog is strongest in grades 7-12 American literature and Shakespeare today. Browse the full list. If your curriculum lives outside that band, we may not be the right fit yet.
If you want to be in the loop when school/district licensing opens
Drop us a line. We will reach out with pilot info in Q1 2027 — no spam in between.
Privacy and student data
BookPulse is built with the strictest state student data privacy laws in mind. We collect first name and last initial only — no email addresses, no full names, no biometrics. AI is optional per class and toggleable by the teacher. Read our FERPA approach or Security practices.
Built by Chris Baarstad, a 16-year ELA teacher (Mater Dei High School and Fairmont Private Schools). Questions? chris@readbookpulse.com.
